Guidelines
- Photography is encouraged everywhere on site except where explicitly noted. The use of flash, tripods, and selfie sticks is prohibited inside the Museum.
- No food may be brought into the Museum.
- Bottles of water, with closed caps, are permitted inside the Museum. Public water fountains are located in the Museum lobby.
- Do not touch objects or artwork except where explicitly indicated with a Please Touch sign.
- Sketching is allowed in the exhibit spaces with graphite pencil only.

Services for Visitors with Mobility Impairments
The Marco Island Historical Society and Museum’s facilities, galleries, auditorium, and outdoor campus are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair-accessible entrance is located near the accessible parking spaces at the back of the Museum. A non-motorized wheelchair is available for loan at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ask for assistance at the Museum’s welcome desk when you arrive.

The Marco Island Historical Museum is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Trained service animals that perform specific tasks for an individual with a disability are welcome and allowed into all public areas, including the Museum, administration office, and auditorium. Our Plan Your Visit page includes our current hours of operation. The museum is closed every Sunday and Monday, but our outdoor campus is open seven days a week and offers an outdoor exhibit, native plant walk, photo opportunities and more. You can also explore our collection online 24/7.

Yes, free parking is available on campus and can be reached from Whiteheart Avenue and Mistletoe Court. Accessible parking spaces are located in the back, and our bike rack is located near the Mistletoe Court entrance in front of the gazebo on the right.

Buses should take the first right into the parking lot on Mistletoe Court, then pull around to the back of the museum to park. Drivers can drop off passengers in the back as well at the accessible ramp entrance to the Museum.

- Take exit 101 and merge right onto County Road 951 (Collier Boulevard).
- After crossing the Jolley Bridge to Marco Island, turn left onto Bald Eagle Drive.
- Turn right onto Whiteheart Avenue and take the first left into the Museum parking lot.
- Follow US 41 South until you reach the junction of US 41 (Tamiami Trail East) and County Road 951 (Collier Boulevard).
- Turn right onto County Road 951 (Collier Boulevard).
- After crossing the Jolley Bridge to Marco Island, turn left onto Bald Eagle Drive.
- Turn right onto Whiteheart Avenue and take the first left into the Museum parking lot.
- Head west on US 41 North until you reach the junction of US 41 and State Road 92 (San Marco Road).
- Turn left onto San Marco Road.
- After crossing the Stan Gober Memorial Bridge to Marco Island, continue for around four more miles and turn left on South Heathwood Drive.
