Intern with us!
Through the Historical Society’s paid summer internship program, our interns have the opportunity to become a member of the collections management team for the summer and gain invaluable work experience as part of the daily operations of the organization’s collections department.
Under the guidance of collections staff, they receive hands-on experience working with our diverse historical collections through collections digitization, research, housing, organization, photography, cataloging, inventory, fabrication, and more. As part of the team, interns may also work alongside the Curator of Collections on exhibit research, development, and installation projects.
Intern project
At the Marco Island Historical Society, we wish for our interns to get the most out of their experience with us and encourage them to channel their unique skills and interests into a project of their own design.
Examples of former intern projects include creating a Historic Marco Island City Driving Tour, designing a professional publication template for our quarterly newsletter, and engaging the community’s help to add context to unidentified collections photographs through the award-winning Marco Memory Project.
Current Opportunities
The MIHS is currently accepting internship program applications for Summer 2026. Check out the internship description for further details, requirements, and how to apply.
